I think i tried Emusic.com once and it was alright, however its selection was lacking somewhat.

But any other good sites to buy/get legit MP3s quick&easy with a WIDE-range selection?

    His name was MackemX

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

Allofmp3.com, though there are some serious questions about its legality, i.e. it isn't as far as the recording industry is concerned.

Apple Store? What do you mean, and whats the site??

Also i don't use an IPOD or anything, just a standard MP3 player.

Will the apple store-bought MP3s allow me to play them on any MP3 playing-device?

How new is your mp3 player? Check out if you can do "playforsure" music files. They are store encrypted wma files.

I use YAHOO MUSIC. They encode at 192 kpbs for wma files. They sound very good. My iriver t30 plays them and the subscription files no problem (though I dorpped the subscription but I can still buy songs).

Also napster and rhapsody I belive are the "playforsure" online stores.

Basically if your mp3 player isn't more than 3 year olds you should be able to play the wma's from these stores.

NOW as for open access mp3 files you have a limited range for "legit" selections. I'll go dig up a cnet article that had a list of the open mp3 sites.

    EDIT -

Here's a link to a list of stores by cnet.com with bitrate and file type comparisons:

    and:

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

But itunes isn't an mp3 site. AND you can only play it on an ipod.

UNLESS you burn them to a cd then rip it back to your harddrive in mp3 mode. But then again you lose some quality that way and have to go the long way around to get what you want.

I used to do that but thats why I bought my iriver and buy at yahoo music. I can download the song and put the original file straight on my player. Clean and simple.

Thanks guys! Allofmp3.com REALLY hit the mark.

I signed up for Emusic.com before though, and it STILL was pretty lacking in what was available. Luckily i'm on the trial phase and will be able to cancel that GARBAGE.

allofmp3.com however, had all the stuff i was looking for easily found. I liked how it also includes the option to choose which bitrate quality you prefer to Buy/download. Because downloading 75MBs in nice 128k quality is way better on a Dial-up connection, than trying to download 130MBs at 192k quality.

I would've resized them to 128k anyway, as its a good minimum bitrate to have(FizeSize Vs Quality balence).

Befoer I got a 60gb iPod and saving space was an issue I would take a 192kb/s file and convert it to 64-80kb/s mp3Pro file. I still have most of those files and they sound great.
