  1. I'm looking for a nice program that'll help me recover the files I deleted by accident a few days ago, preferrably freeware but a trial version would do too. Suggestions ? The ones that cost money well I'll take those into consideration too as long as it gets the job done.

The cheap version is under $100. Not bad at all for high-end software.

    http://www.woundedmoon.org/win32/driverescue19d.html , freeware

    Saved myself a few headaches a number of times using it under win98 / 98se / winme / xp - fat32

Ntfs not fully implemented , yet confirmed minutes ago under win nt 2000 pro , works
After scan completed under ntfs condition , a popup warning error appears , ignore it

    The rule is :

Rescue files asap , before hd is defraged .

The reason being that defrag recovers the space taken by the original file , and system files may now reside within this position . Recovering files from this point can be carried out , but could cause system problems as recovery may cause file corruption .

Though I have never struck this problem .

If you've written anything to your drive since the accidental delete, the files could be overwritten and gone.

I have recovered files from HDs that have been reformatted many times, and still get them.

It is funny that this came up now. I had just accidentally deleted some files and formatted my hard drive and I found recover my files software and it pulled out every file I had accidentally deleted. IT is not free but for me I didnt care. IT worked great. Good Luck
