Firmware & DVD+RW

Hey guys, I am trying to update my Firmware (I have a Pioneer DVR-A08/DVR-108BK) and for some reason I can only update it to the 1.10 version, when there are newer versions all the way to 1.20. When I trie to install the newer versions I get this COMMAND PROMPT that says
/// ODD Firmware Update Utility Ver2.23B
Detect the Intel's IDE driver.
Available target is not found.
And I also get this little pop-up that says "Available target is not found".
Does any1 know how to do this?


The DVD+RW question that I have is, Does any1 know where to get the
"Fujifilm 4x DVD+RW -RICOHJPNW11-"
or
"HP DVD+RW -Philips.041-"
or
"Verbatim (DataLifePlus) 2.4xDVD+R (MKM.....001)"

I have no idea where to even look for these, or how to tell if they are the "RICOHJPNW11" and the "Philips.041" models.

For the media, try plugging in those last characters into the DVD Media 'Search Manufacturer code' to the left. They will show you DVD brands from those manufacturers. <<<<<<

so the dvds don't really have to be fujifilm, hp, or Verbatim, as long as they have the same Manufacture code?

Is there a reason why you need those specific codes?

And yes, many companies often use the same media.

Is your Pioneer burner an OEM version? If so, the official firmware upgrades will not work. You need to find the OEM firmware upgrade.

I have some Sony & Memorex DVD+RW that have media code RICOHJPNW11 so it's not just Fuji, but unfortunately there usually is no way to tell what the media code is without opening the package and checking one of the discs.
