Sorry if this is a very simple question.
Is there a program that will let you breakdown an already authored program so that I can reauthor it with my own menus. My daughter was in a dance recital and someone taped it and used some cheap program to author it. I want to go in and put in my own fancier menus. Is there something out there that knows where the buttons point to and chops the vob file at those points? I searched though the tools and didn't really know where to look and really don't know what category that would be called "De-authroing"

  2. TMPGEnc DVD Author will allow you to load files from the VIDEO_TS folder of your DVD. You can then edit the video (if needed) and then add your own menus and create a new DVD.

  3. Hi-

It's called demuxing and the tool of choice is PGCDemux.

TDA can create menus from vobs, if you're planning on using that.

    Thanks for the reply
I don't own TMPGEnc DVD Author but the more I see it used the more I wonder if I should. The movie has over 50 dances. So I am trying to do this automatically without having to go in and seperate out 50 individual movie clips. I was hoping to output them as their individual mpg files again perhpas a pipe dream so that I could go in and make multiple menu pages not just one with all 50 "buttons". I looked at the tutorial on pgcdemux and perhaps there is more to it but it looks as if it just lets you edit the bmp file doesn't really let you make menu layers perhaps again I am mistaken

  5. DVDDecrypter in IFO mode can extract individual "episodes".

    With your help I found
    Baldricks article

Really never thought I would need to do this so I really didn't pay too much attention to this.
    Thanks

PGCDemux, as its name clearly says, demuxes. What you asked was:
Is there a program that will let you breakdown an already authored program so that I can reauthor it with my own menus.
Demuxing and authoring are 2 completely different processes using 2 different programs (although it looks like DVDLab Pro can do both). You "breakdown an already authored program" with PGCDemux (or DVD Decrypter, or other programs), and create menus and author with something else.
