  1. alright, I know what i'm doing with this authoring program. the only problem that i'm having is when I'm importing a file which is a .MPEG, the program tells me its not a supported file type. What the hell...it is a supported file type. What can be going on here. There is nothing wrong with this file, it plays in all players and for some reason, it wont go into Encore. help please!

all these files were done in Premiere - exported (MS AVI) - Covnerted to MPG using TMPGEnc - thats it!

One more question. What is a good MPG to AVI converter?

    thanks

So what...It doesn't mean that it's a DVD compliant Mpeg..
What about some specs on the Mpeg? Tmpgenc settings?

I'd give VirtualDubMpeg2 a go..Load the Mpeg, and use your favourite codec to create the .AVI.

    Good luck!!!

If your using PAL I think the MPEG must be encoded to either 720x576 or 704x576 to be DVD compliant.

An MPEG can be enconded in many different non-DVD compliant ways.

Can you give some details of the file properties from avicodec or gspot?

What is DVD (top left corner of this page) will tell you all the allowable combinations of frame resolutions and frame rates for DVD compliance.
