hi pplr, here is something that some of you may have encountered while using the Philips DVP5140, as mentioned in my other post, this thing is great, plays all my divx files altho having trouble with some files (maybe due to poor dvd disc quality). however it has one major problem which i hope there is a firmware to fix this! some of the .srt files don't display properly? i will describe this as clearly as possible. the subtitle (reading from the .srt file) will show on the first line at the bottom of video but it will however get chopped at the end and will not go onto the next line, it seems like it doesn't know how to do a wrap around with the .srt txt. so you only get one line of subtitle and if there is more than that, then you end up guessing what the actors are saying. so far ive been playing my jap dramas and with all of them i see this problem occuring. is there a fix for this? a firmware out there that can solve this problem? cuz i am getting tired of guessing what's going half the time, especially when my japanese is quite poor. thanks!

any comments on pro's and con's, like what it can play, strengths, or what it can't play, fill free to post! i just got this player and would appreciate some more insight on the philips dvp5140 as it seems to be one of a kind! im sure a lot of you out there have bought this player and hopefully you're all enjoying your purchase!
