  1. You need this to work with Sony plus Dell ;-(

There have been numerous recent news reports about Dell laptops bursting into flames, and pictures of some of the charred machines have circulated on the Internet.

A Dell spokesman said the batteries were made by Sony Corp and placed in notebooks that were shipped between April 1, 2004, and July 18 of this year.

This is not flaming. See full story at : http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060814/ap_on_hi_te/dell_battery_recall

    Hardee Har Har...

There have been other problem before relating to defective batteries causing heat issue among other things. One of peril of laptop is the small space and the need to cram everything inside. I recieved a notice from Apple about a battery in my Powerbook some 10 years or so ago.

3rd party batteries that aren't licensed (and even pirated) could be at greater risk for fire hazard.

This was in today's Detroit Free Press paper. It listed a few incidents including one burned down truck out in western USA. Story here at http://cbs5.com/topstories/local_story_226190628.html The paper displayed the ggraphic remain of the truck and laptop but it wasn't up at www.freep.com last I checked.

If you know someone who has Dell laptop, chuck the battery before anything can happen.
