Does anybody know an application that can take your DVD artwork and create a "3D" image similar to this one:

By far the best program I know of that creates a 3d image of a case is IMANDIX Cover. It's easy to use, fast, doesn't require installation, and is freeware. The program is very flexible and produces extremely nice output.

    Yep,
Just tried out the IMANDIX Cover and with a full flat cover, front and back, it crops off the back and shows multiples of the front and side just like you would take a photo of 3 or 4 dvd cases set up.

Even makes 360 rotating animations!! pretty slick!!

Now what would be cool if there was a program like IMANDIX Cover that would incorporate the DVD disc along with the cover like the OP's photo or let you do multiple DVD disc's in a photo like this one does with multiple covers.

For that I just take the output from IMANDIX and drag and drop my label image on top in Photoshop. It only takes about 5 secs.

I'm feeling a bit thick right now, so could someone explain some uses for 3D box art?

    Ummm.... yeah...
    :P
I already did that i just thought it would be cool if there was a program that would do it all in one shot to look like the OP's photo, where just part of the dvd disc is sticking out like from inside the case because to make it look like that takes a little more work in PS

I know I'm just saying that it doesn't take that long....because I'm pretty sure that no such automated program for that exists. I agree it would be kinda cool. If you wanted to you could make a photoshop action for it.

Yeah, it is still a sweet program though!!
One thing i kind of did not like was i don't see a way to add background shadow's when you do a row of dvd covers Just singles showing the front and back.
