I regard myself a veteran in .RMVB conversion with ffmpegX in my PowerBook G4 and iMac G5. I bought a new MacBook partly because of anticipated acclerated conversion with ffmpegX UB.
I make a clean installation of ffmpegX with the necessary new components in place. The Helix developer site no longer stocks gcc build for Mac OS X. I therefore downloaded the stable build from major and placed it in the appropriate folder in the Application Support.
Unfortunately, the UB ffmpegX seems to have problem in opening .RMVB. The app will just hang there after opening or dropping a .RMVB to it. (See pic below)
As you can see in the pic, tr, grep, mplayer, sh also just hang in there. This import problem is not present with import of .AVI or .MOV I have tested.
May I know if it's a common problem with Intel Mac? As MacBook shares many common features of Intel Mac mini. May I know if other Intel Mac users encountered similar problems?
Would major advise. Many thanks. I adore your app.
Regards,
Gareth
