I am not sure if i am in the correct forum, and i'm sorry if i am.

I have an Intel based Win XP Laptop running Office 2003. I am moving to a new job that uses nearly all Macbook powered by Snow leopard OS. This is in a school.

I have been told that it is ok for my laptop to logon to the domain.

The domain is ruinning a Apple server with apple software.

What are some of the things i need to know regarding transferring documents and file formats between Mac and Win XP and vice versa.

Stuff like portable hard drives, USB drives etc.

Simply because the operating systems are different not much else is. Sure programs that are installed on a MAC require they be programmed for a MAC but they both can read texts (*.txt) play movies (*.avi, *.mpg) etc USB 2.0 is still USB 2.0 etc, etc the included software allows for this. As far as accessing an apple based domain your os should be able to communicate with the network.

I think somebody once said that USB thumdrives have to be formatted FAT 32 for Macs to read them.

    Is that correct
