There are a number of programs that can remove or reduce vocals from a track, however there are a number of caveats.

    1. MP3 is the worst format to attempt this with because the compression destroys the stereo seperation of the track, producing mud from which nothing can be removed. Only use your original CDs.

    2. They will remove anything that is recorded indentically in both channels - vocals, bass, drums etc. Depending on how the original was recorded, you might only lose the vocals, or might have very little left at all.

    3. When it's gone, it's gone. They don't strip it into pieces that you can use elsewhere, so you can't remove the beats from one song, and use them in another.

    4. Did I mention that MP3 is a very poor quality audio format that butchers the sound ? Do not use MP3 compressed audio for this, or anything that requires audio quality.

The simplest remover is the AnalogX Vocal Remover. It is a directx or winamp plugin (two different versions), so it will work in most audio editors.
