I have VideoRedo to remove the commercials from captured programs that I may want commit to DVD at some point in the future. I have an OEM version of Cyberlink’s PowerProducer 3 which will burn DVD-RAM discs but it takes for ever and a day to compile the folders and files for a two hour program.

Is there any other software that will read the VideoRedo MPG files and burn them (in a reasonable time) to a DVD-RAM for viewing on my Panasonic DMR-ES10. Alternatively is there any way to speed up PowerProducer 3 disc compilation?

    Baldrick,

Thanks for the advice, downloaded a trial copy and it appears to do the job in about half the time of any others that I have tried. Just got to test the DVD-RAM authoring when my new burner arrives tomorrow.

  4. What type of file do you want?

Dvdram uses VRO files. You could change the name from VRO to MPG. I wonder if changing MPG to VRO would work instead of converting?

I need both VOB and VRO and I need to be able to read/write VRO files to edit out the commercials.

I do think that MF5 is going to be the best solution for me. I have some additional hardware on the way and can test things a little better once that arrives.

The whole area of capture, editing and encoding video files is an absolute nightmare with so many pieces of software that are unstable or just don't do the job.
