    Hello.

Just joined this forum, need a little help. Heres my problem...

I use Cucusoft Pro to convert my files from AVI to DVD (VOB)

But once i've burnt the VOBS to a DVD i've noticed, for example when i burned the movie 'The Descent' it consisted of 4 VOB files, around 1GB each.

When watching the movie on the TV where it changed to the next VOB file the picture would do a slight 'JUMP' nothing to bad but ever since i've wanted to know if there's a way to stop that?

I once tried merging to VOB files together with VOBMERGE so it'd be one big VOB file and then using a different program to get my IFO's & BUP's then converting it into an ISO file and burning it as an Image but i must of split itself again into seperate VOB's since it still did a JUMP on change!!!

I'm kind of finding it hard to explain but i've tried my best. hehe

    Any feedback will be brillient

    Thanks

Use better software ? I have never had this type of problem using ConvertXtoDVD, or using a manual approach.

Where these avis single files to begin with, or multi-part files ?

VOBs have a maximum size of 1GB as a part of the DVD format. You can see the DVD format in 'What is' DVD to the upper left. <<<<<<<

The 'jump' likley has to do with the way the video is authored to the DVD format. Someone else here can probably explain this better.

    And welcome to our forums.

Then the issue is Cucusoft Pro, the media or the burn method

What media do you use ?
How are you burning the disc (software) ?

Does this happen when you play back from the HDD ?
Does this happen with other discs, or just this single file ?

No absolutes, but on my machine less than an hour on the highest quality mode. Will probably take longer on yours if your specs are right.

If you wave your mouse pointer over the little Computer button in my post you will see my specs - that's how I saw yours. Currently - 3.0 P4 with HT, 1 GB DDR400 ram, and a 320mb of disc over three drives.
