I have an idea of something I'd like to try on my site, I'll go into more detail later if I can get it to work. I would like to install a 3d virtual world on my site, where users can walk around in it and interact with each other. A good example of this is an internet multiplayer game that I've heard of called Runescape. I'd like to be able to customize the environment a lot, adding different features and things. Do you know of any type of software that I could install on my site and use? Perhaps freeware?

Ok that looks interesting, what do I need to get started? What do I install to my server first?

I took a look at active worlds and it has a lot of what I want, and I even installed it on my site here: www.wiscollectorcar.com/world/ but I can't figure out how to start my world or access it, there aren't any instructions. Any ideas?
Also are there any other good ones out there that would work for my project? -
What about a sort of photo gallery software (maybe 3d?) where users could post their cars w/ pics and then you could browse. If you click on a car you can chat (text or voice) with the owner. Is that feasible?
