I'm not that picky, but it seems that finding one of these that suits individual needs is easier said than done.
That said, I'm looking for a DVDR, $250 or less preferably, that can do the following:
--Record stuff I have saved on my TiVO on to a DVD that will play in most DVD players.
--Play DVD's that I have created on my PC using Nero 6 (I don't really care if it is limited to +R or -R, I just need it to work).
--Play photo DVD's made with Nero 6 (I forget the exact format they use)
If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
Dwayne

I have a Pioneer 633 DVR, but there are other more inexpensive ones out there. We have a 'DVD Recorders' listing to the left that is searchable and may give you some ideas. <<<<<<
I would definitely recommend one with a internal hard drive. It makes the machine much more flexible. You can record several hours of video, edit it down on the hard drive and burn or toss it, your choice. -

The only other advice I would give is stick with one of the major brands, JVC, Toshiba, Pioneer, etc. and you should be happy enough. I bought a 'Walmart special' a couple of years ago for a cheap price and it only worked properly for about six months and was always unnecessarily complicated to use. Just a waste of money.
