Searches have found nothing on how to change faceplate/bezel on Pioneer 111d. I did find a how to for Benq burners, and I'd think the process should be similar. Open the tray, press in plastic tabs and remove. Are there any differences or things I should watch or be careful of on this task for Pioneer drives, and is tray cover removed same on Pioneer as on Benq?

Both brands of dvd burners should be the same when removing the face plate.
It was a bitch to remove the beige face plate on one of my rebadged BENQ 1650 drives. I decided on my other BENQ 1640 drives to just leave the beige face plate on since my computer cases have a door.

My older Pioneer 107D has beige faceplate that matches PC case, and I would like to get a new Pioneer 111D in black and switch faceplates to put the new drive in the beige case and the older drive in an older black case system. Should this be feasible, or are there any differences between the 107D and 111D faceplates? They appear same to me from photos.

Trying it out would be the only way to find out if it works or not.

A close look at CDFreaks' review photos shows the 111 has plastic clips on drive top front that 110 and earlier models don't have. I think this would preclude bezel interchangability between the 111 and earlier models. Can anybody else see differently or have any ideas that could work? I might need to just get the 111 in beige and try to find a black bezel for the 107. Does anyone know where 107 bezels might be available?

From the CDFreaks forum I learned the plastic clips on 111 drive top front are for an internal part and not connected to bezel as well as another user had the 111 bezel fit perfect on his 109 drive. Thus the 107 and 111 bezels should interchange with no problem.
