will not burn to disc

after many years of no problems, my computer has decided it will allow me to burn images to the computer bit will not then burn the images back to a blank dvd. I am using windows xp. The programs I use for burning are record now dx and nero express. Any ideas on how to fix this problem would be apppreciated. I have VERY limited computer knowledge

the same thing happens no matter what program I use. I can burn cds using nero burning rom, my friends can burn to disc using the same discs from my spindle. everything else works ok except taking that damn image file and putting it onto a blank!!!!!!!

What brand of dvd media are you using? If you're trying to burn a ISO image then use IMGBURN which is freeware.

What about trying your burner in someone else's PC ?

Sounds to me like the DVD burning laser might have given up the ghost.

when I use recordnow dx I get this error:

Image Job Untitled 1 Terminated with Errors.
Error 10 at Sector 800-Disc read Error-Command:2A Sense:03 ASC:73 ASCQ:03

I use Databank dvd-r 4.7GB my mate has no problem with these and I have used them for 2 years. When I get a failure I place them on a spool and he then uses them with no problem. We put his burner in my pc and had the same problem mine is a pioneer AO7 and his is an AO9

Hi all,
just for the info of anyone having a similar problem - after having my computer "fixed" by two different IT guys, and still having my problem - my 13 year old son suggested I burn at 6 times instead of the usual four - and it WORKED!!!!!!!!!!
