    As to Hollywood movies, are they using DVDs and upconvert them? So if I buy a DVD player with upconversion, I can expect a high definition output?

    As to TV shows, what media are these stored in?

    No, they are not upconverting from DVDs and no you wont get real high definatino with upconversion players.

    I don't know how they store newer tv shows though....but not in dvd format...
