    Hi there,

I've done plenty of movie editing, but never done a picture dvd before, I've looked around the net & found loads of prog's that convert the pictures into a slide-show so ya can watch them on ya dvd-player, well I'm after a program where ya can select with pic ya want to look at & it doesn't go to another pic after a few sec's like a slide-show would do. Like a prog that would have a menu with say A listed to Z OR years, then ya select the place, time or person from the list & then select on thumnails.

Thanks if anyone can help, NO SLIDE-SHOW progs, no making the files into movies, would mean pausing everytime ya wanted to look at a pic for a long time.

Anyone know of any such program ??

Well, I'm not 100% sure but I guess (GUESS) DVD Architect can do it. It is a Slide Show but you can stop and admire your pic as long as you want. If I'm wrong, pls let me know

Close and explain's how to get around the "all play button" issue ... yes slideshow , but with alot of trick's employed .

    =================================

As for what you actually want ... your dvd must support folder navigation .

Install dvdslideshowgui ... and remove the mplayer from it's folder (prevent's mpeg generation)
When it complain's , go to it's installed folder and copy all the picture's to another folder ... then close app .

You repeat this step ... it's just a quick method to resizing clip's without distortion of aspect ratio's .

Let's say you have familly photo's , then project would look like :

Main menu jpeg + family (folder)

Family folder contain's sub folder's ... you decide what folder's to include ... this is just an example .

    Dad
    Mum
Bro (by name / may have more than one)
Sis (by name / may have more than one)

Each of these folder's have a main menu jpeg ... listing sub folder's and what content is within each .
    May need a few menu jpeg's ... to cover aniversary's , birthday's ... ect .

Create a folder under each main folder to store these picture's .

I would include consecutive number's in front of each picture's name ... so they keep order when shown in dvd navigation on tv screen .

This approach dose mean going back and forth through folder's using the dvd remote , but also allow's an anormous amount of clip's to be stored to dvd-r ... 4,200+ if each is 1 megabyte ... 8000+ if half mb each .
