    Hi Folks,

I hope this is the correct forum to ask about this. If not please forgive my ignorance.

I generally use TMPGEnc to convert AVIs into MPEG2 format so that I can author them onto a DVD disk. If I have a few AVIs then I use the Wizard to do a batch conversion overnight and this works well.

However, if the AVI contains AC3 sound I have to demux the Audio using VirtualDubMod, run the AVI through TMPGEnc selecting ES (Video only) under Stream Type and join the m2v and ac3 together in TMPGEnc DVD Author.

This again works fine but if I need to batch process a number of AVIs with AC3 sound I cannot find a way in the Wizard to select ES (Video only). As VirtualDudMod only copies the Audio track to a new AC3 file, and still leaves the Video with the original track, TMPGEnc gets upset as it is trying to convert the original AVI Video with the AC3 sound and it does not like it.

Is there away that the TMPGEnc wizard can select ES Video only for batch processing, or is there a way, or program, to actual split the AVI into separate Video and Audio components?

    Regards

    Techno

You might try VirtualDub (Mod) and frameserve directly to TMPGEnc. You can disable the audio in VD (M) after you mux it out. I don't know on batch processing that way, but maybe someone has a better method.
