    Been doing some tinkering with Windows Movie Maker for some clips I'd like to publish on the web.

    Been trying to get the best balance between file size and quality, if your familiar with this programs settings, ideally I'd like something between the 48kbs (for ISDN) and the 150kbs (for broadband) settings, but there isn't one.

    The "best fit to file size" option is a bit of a hit and miss affair. I know many file conversion/capture programs allow you to alter/cusomize settings, so I was wondering if there was such an option with Windows Movie Maker? If there is I can't find it!

    You might try switching to Windows Media Encoder, which allows you to set custom settings as you please.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    with my source and @ 320x240, I use around 400kbps with 48kbps audio for the web which allows for decent quality and downloads
    total=448kbps
