In the US, I think Blockbuster is the only real competition. There's several small ones though. You can just google them.

Yeah I'd say Blockbuster is the only real competition. From what I know you can get instore coupons with a monthly online subscription. Though I don't know what targets you have to it. Its probably like at least 3 rentals a month. Check out www.blockbuster.com for more info.
I had netflix for 8 months and loved it. Though I dropped it because I finally decided to get cable. I was using netflix to rent all the old tv shows I haven't seen in years. So I decided to finally get cable for things like tvland and nick at nite. The scifi channel and spike are a nice addition too.
I never had a problem with netflix. Though it was funny the first disc I rented (a DS9 disc) was too scratched to play. But I went to the website and ordered a replacement and got it the next day and that was the only bad disc I had over my entire subscription.Donatello - The Shredder? Well, I have used Netflix off and on for a few years, with mixed results. I dont know if it is my imagination, but it sure seems like service drops off after the first four to six weeks. Example : two selections at a time, unlimited. I was able to get four selections a week. That required viewing them the day they arived and sending them back the next day. My daily schedule doesn't always alow me to do that. But, in order to get the most out of my subscription, I try to view them the day they delivered. Then, the selections drop off to two per week. Then one every seven to eight working days. Now, it seems to take that long for them to be returned. But, that might not be the fault of Netflix, now that I think about it. Do you ever wonder if there are any low life carriers or sorters working at the U.S. Postal Service, who might be thinking, I believe I take a few of these home tonight, and watch them at my liesure ? I'll just tape the envelope up and place it back in the mail tomorrow. Or, if I like it, I'll just keep it and burn the envelope. Any way, this is the reason I only keep a subscription for two months. And maybe, I'll pick up a subscription from Blockbuster and see if there is any difference in service.
Am I paranoid or what ? -
Walmart's rental service was bought out by Netflix. It doesn't exist anymore.

Really. Now their rental service website is a referral to Netflix.

They're actually partners but Walmart was basically forced into it due to legal reasons so its not very lucrative for them...according to their side of the story. In any case the only real players now are Netflix and Blockbuster...and Netflix is going after BB now too for patent infringement.
