Copy burned DVD using nero

Hi all,

I have been having some issues with copying DVD's that I have burned myself.
I am using Nerovision Express 2 to try and copy home movies that I have put onto DVD and every time I try to do this the burn process fails.

This is happening with DVD's that I have authored using Ulead Videostudio 7 and using Nero so I dont think it is anything to do with settings in a program as I have tried using these 2 programs for authoring and then trying to do a copy using Nero.

Are there any hidden settings in the drivers etc for the DVD burner that would encrypt the authored DVD or something like that ?
Its extremely annoying to have to burn the DVD from the authoring program twice.

I should also mention that when I try to decrypt the burned DVD using DVD Decrypter this also fails, however the DVD plays absolutely fine in my dvd player.

it should be as easy as ISO read then ISO write using dvddecrypter

if your having problems with the read part , then it maybe a scratched disc.

give it a wipe and try again or try dvdFABdecrypter

Its definately not a scratched disc.
This is happening consistently with multiple discs and using multiple software to burn the discs.
Also, as this is already a DVD-R for the original, I shouldnt have to use something like DVD Decrypter, I should just be able to do a straight copy.

Could this be a problem with my computer or my dvd burner ?

Nero is more likely the problem. Try doing as Sifaga suggested. You can't get any easier. You use DVD Decrypter's burning engine. ISO Read>ISO Write. You will get an exact copy without any other program making changes, or transcoding or other unnecessary stuff. A exact 1:1 copy you can repeat a dozen times if you like. If this doesn't work, then you do have a problem with your file or disc.

what was the error you got when you tried dvddecrypter

It could be five things:
1.Can't read UDF,download Adaptec UDF Reader(make sure to uninstall Nero InCD).
2.Firmware doesn't support the media,go to www.rpc1.org.
3.Problem with Nero,try another program.
4.Bad media,try another batch.
5.Bad writer,well we know what that means.
If you can't rip with DVDFab Decrypter or IsoBuster then I think it's #5.

I must admit that im starting to lean towards it being a problem with the burner.
Havent heard of any other problems like this really and when i got a friend to try to copy one that i had burned for me it worked ok.

It wasnt a crc error, from memory all of the programs i have tried using to copy have come up with an access problem for one of the VOB files.

I have copied previously burned disks using Nero selecting Copy Disk, but results were significantly degraded video with a slightly faded, hazy appearance. DVDDecrypter iso read and iso write eliminates the problem nicely, and Nero Image Recorder accomplishes the same good results if you prefer to use Nero.
