    Hi,

I've bought for $20 a JVC DR-MH20 with a permanent "Loading" problem and I'm trying to repair it. I tested the HDD and the DVD drives on a computer - they are working fine.
The main voltages from the power supply seems to be OK (12V, 5V, 3.3V).
Does anyone have some tips for repair this unit?

  2. I am not sure if you want to solve this problem or just get the problem solved. JVC is repairing the "loading" problem for free the last I heard. You may want to contact them first if you simply want the problem solved.

The unit is not under warranty and I've bought it at a garage sale. So I don't think that JVC will repair the unit for free. I have some experience with DVD troubleshoot but not with this brand and model.

  4. I would advise you to check with JVC. I do not recall that the unit needs to be in warranty for this fix. If they will fix it for free, you will have a real bargain.

Here is what is said on the JVC USA web site.

I will try this solution. I'm living in Canada so I have to ask JVC Canada division.
    Thank you for the information.
