Easy enough. Use a DVD ripping program. You will find them in 'Tools' to the left. <<<<<<
DVD Decrypter and DVD Fab Decrypter are popular. Fab will work on most newer movies, is continually updated. DVD Decrypter is not updated, but it can also burn DVDs and do a few other things. If you want to back up one of your DVDs, you can use DVD Shrink and one of those rippers, if needed.

    [Sorry, double post]

OK, I used DVDFab, and ripped a DVD to my harddrive,
and it gave me lots of .VOBs, .BUPs and .IFOs,

Right, I've seen that these are the files from the DVD, but what program do I play them with ?

Or do I use a program to compile it all into one playable file ?

PowerDVD. But if the DVD isn't yours, I sure hope it's not a commercial DVD...

What you have is the entire DVD, just on your hard drive. If you look to the upper left for 'What is' DVD, you will see the DVD format and it will tell you what all those VOBs, IFOs and BUPs are for.

It depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to back it up, then DVD Shrink can do that. If you just want to watch it from your hard drive, then a player like VLC Media Player or PowerDVD can do that. If you want to convert it further, you can convert the VOBs to a MPEG-2 video using a program like VOB2MPEG. If you want to convert it to Xvid format to save room, try FairUse Wizard or AutoGK.

Those programs are all available in freeware except PowerDVD.

    Thanks,

Another question: The DVD was Japanese, ok, but you can play it with English dubbing. So after ripping it, it plays it in Japanese by default.

I know how to change it, AUDIO > AUDIO TRACKS, but is there a way I can save the file to play English by default ?

*In VLC Player by the way.
