  1. Any idea why I would get green fuzzy screen when using JVC SRv10u>8710>Toshiba DR2 DVD recorder, also tried a RJ Tech drw1000 dvd recorder, same problem.

When using a avt 8710 or TBC 1000 should any or all of the "enhancers" on the jvc vcr's(I have 9911 as well),be turned off?

    Thanks

Every once in a while my 8710 seems to lock into a weird screen.
I clear it up by just powering down then back up.
I don't know why it happens...but it reminds me of a kind of feedback loop problem.

AVT-8710 does weird things when you change channels, start new tapes, go into VCR menus, etc .... just unplug and re-plug it, should reset fine.

I'm with LS on this, my AVT-8710 (luv it!) goes into a weird display mode now and then, usually when I've made a cable change and was too lazy to power-off beforehand. Unplug it, wait 1 minute, plug it back in. Sometimes it's stubborn, requires a second try. I also find that the best way to power-down is to unplug the power-supply wall wart itself, instead of pulling the plug from the back of the AVT. It seems the wall wart holds a charge for quite a long time.

I'm certain the AVT-8710 has some sort of battery-powered internal memory. If you make changes with the proc amp buttons (contrast, color, etc.), leave it unplugged for a month and turn it on, the settings are still there. You have to re-set to clear old settings. I once left mine unplugged for 3 months, started a new capture and wondered why the color was so red -- it was because old settings to correct an earlier, greenish tape were still active.
