I recently upgraded my video card to an ATI 9600 SE and notice that the colors on some of my videos are haywire. Yet when I play them using the VLC player they're fine. What codecs am I missing? Thanks.

I hope you used the online updated video card driver's and not those from the included cd ...
Do that first and then report .
Same thing happened a while back ... the default video driver's on the cd were rubbish ... the online one's fixed the playback quality issue here .
