  1. I think I know why they want to end CD and DVD productions and switch totally to downloads(offical paid for from legit sites).

It is to do with money.

When you became bored with a CD or DVD you can sell it on for some money but you can't sell paid for downloads.

I buy a lot of CDs off Ebay and I will sell them when I become bored with them. It is currently legal to sell CDs you have brought from a shop but you are breaking the law if you sell a download you have brought from a download site.

This is a conspiracy of the big record companies to get more money out of us. I advise people not to buy downloads but to buy the CD. Least with a pressed CD you can sell it when you are bored with it and use the money to buy a new CD.

    ????

They aren't going to download only anytime soon.

Haven't you heard about Bluray VS HD-DVD??? They still want you to buy discs. That way they can make you buy new players.

It won't be all download until everyone has access to at least 3meg downloads for $10 a month with unlimited download capacity.

Then they'll start trying to push more movies online. But I haven't even seen a commercial on tv to get you to buy a movie online.

They are still aways off from that.

There's just one flaw in this conspiracy theory, the music industry was always opposed to online sales. Itunes was the first to try to license music for online sale and the music labels refused to do it for nearly 10 years. They only gave in when piracy started to chip into hard copy sales...or at least that is the reason that they gave.

and the studios just rejected apples offer for download movies @ 9.95 each --- so it will be even a longer time before you see download only (maybe never)
