When some elder members of the VH community explain why
Windows Media Player or Windows Movie Maker are not very good,
one assumes they are well-informed and do know what they are
talking about; on the other hand, when I happened to explain
why dotNET Framework and Internet Explorer cannot be
intelligent choices, I immediately was labeled as:
1) a Microsoft hater;
2) an anti-Microsoft zealot;
3) an anti-Microsoft propaganda mongerer;

There's a big difference between "... are not very good" and "... cannot be
intelligent choices"
People generally take offence to being called stupid. -

You jump in to any post that suggests use of a Microsoft product and immediately take the negative position, usually adding little to the post other than "Microsoft is bad, m'kay". Any post that has someone with an issue with a Microsoft product for any reason and you jump in with a great "yippee - see, Microsoft is evil".
The only conspiracy I see here is the one in your mind that Microsoft are out to rule the world by providing poor quality products to the masses. If that was the path the world domination, Ford would have ruled the planet fifty years ago.
It is easy to sit down and point out flaws with anything. Every operating system has short-comings. Accept it. Simply posting to put forward your negative view, without offering a real alternative that actually assists the original poster does nothing more than feed your own bias.Read my blog here.

ARE in fact "unbiased and accurate"? Come on!
You jump in to any post that suggests use of a Microsoft product
And please go on, please keep feeding your own biases.
"Certainly" they are better than mine.

Once again I have to ask... If you don't want to hear the answer, why do you ask the question?

Well, as a freshman to these forums, I still fed the silly hope that
people apparently cleverer than I would never ever be capable of writing
exceedingly-stupid statements. To the best of my memory, I have simply
stressed that .NET and Vista really are annoyingware, whenever
I found it appropriate. However, from this undeniable simple fact,
a self-entitled "almighty savior of the non-existent honor of Microsoft"
erroneously concluded "OMG!, there goes another extremely-dangerous
Microsoft hater! Let's stop them already!" Well, at least I have learned
to perceive who is a pro-Microsoft zealot and who is not
Bottom line is, when someone simply wants to misunderstand what other
people say
{ the thread
https://forum.videohelp.com/topic335154.html
is a good example of what I am talking about },
there's nothing we can do to stop them from wanting to act insanely.
Of course they can always blame it all on my imperfect English...
Thanks for the input, gadgetguy.

I'm curious Midzuki .. what do figure the pissing and moaning is going to get you? It certainly isn't going to make you more popular. It might change your label from "super microsoft propaganda hater" to "jesus, shut it already" but thats about it.
Why does it bother you so much that a bunch of nameless faceless people dont like what you have to say? Is your self esteem THAT shot?
I dont think its so much that everyone doesnt want to hear what you have to say. If you add to a post "yeah, I dont like the .net frameware. I think it sucks." Fine. But on one thread about it, you went on and on about it. We get it. You dont like it. Then when someone else has a counter statement, you throw in "Groundless M$-supporting propaganda, as already expected." Its childish, argumentative, and essentially sets the stage that you are "trying" to start something. Its not only what you say, its how you say it. Be a little more tactful and it might get you a bit further. As well, the old addage "if you have nothing nice to say, dont say anything at all" occasionally applies.
Besides, these forums have been around for quite some time. I have also been around for quite some time. I consider myself an "elder" in terms of length of time here but certainly not in knowledge (as compared to some of the other wizards here). I have never ever ever had a problem with anyone on this board. I can assure you that the boards and the people here are not going to cater to you. I suggest that if you dont like how things are run, you *may* want to consider shopping at another store. Cause the complaining will only get you banned from a mod.
Chill out, relax, have a good time. There are fun people here. -
Microsoft is fine. It's just a company. They make great products, they also make crap products.
Generally okay:
OS
WMP
Word, Office
Notepad, Wordpad (part of OS)
MSN.com
XBOX
Generally crap:
Movie Maker
IE
Defender
Backup
... most of these are cheesy crap that comes built into the OS
With WWW being what it is today, I'd have to agree IE is not an intelligent choice. Kind of like putting a padlock on a screen door, in terms of security. Bazillions of holes still there. There's a reason the Firefox share is now sitting pretty in the 40% range. I convert about 25 people per year. It doesn't take any arm twisting when they see the features (tabs, recover tabs, restore browser session, adblock, greasemonkey, etc).Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

I think the big difference between the "I hate MM" crowd and the I hate "Windows" crowd is that you can't offer a better alternative. Not trying to start a OS war neither, the fact is there is nothing that is compatible with the amount of devices and has anywhere near the software library available. Until that point all OS's will take a back seat to Windows. -
