  1. I have yet to find anything on philips website or anywhere for that matter about firmware for this thing? Anyone know anything?

    I don't see one on the Philips website but that is no surprise ... I mean this thing is about as new as new gets.

    I wouldn't expect a firmware so soon.

    What "fix" were you looking for anyways?

  4. Sorry didnt realise this thing was still SO new.... you can disregard... however i must say so far this is an AWESOME player.... especially at $54.88

    it should work fine with the us version, just make sure u note how to set the output back to ntsc, note the button presses, and use the regionfree code or set it to region 1.

    I used the european firmware on my 642 and it works perfectly.

  6. i would love for there to be an update... it freezes with some playback and has a hard time recognizing some dvd+r's.... maybe they are just taking their time LOL
