Dont know if i'm even asking in the right forum..Couldnt find one that suited.

I saw in a newsgroup the other day a video file that had an NFO file that stated that if you ran this Xvid file on a standalone DIVX player, that it would have a menu.
I dont have a Divx player so i couldnt try it..But i am extremely curious.
Do these Divx players have menu capabilities like standard DVD players ?

If so, what software do they use to link the files to the menu and what limitations do the menu's have ? (number of highlite colours etc etc)

I've googled all over the place looking for some information but was unsucessful.

  3. Nope .
    Nope .
Only divx6 certified players will read and use menu info in a divx6 file. I dont know of any divx6 certified players and AFAIK there is no way of doing menus in xvid officially. there may be a hack somwehere. the official divx player (for pc) should play it back with full functionality if you want to test it out.

I think the term is Divx Ultra when talking about hardware certification. I also believe that the menu is limited only to the movie in the container, so you can't make a fancy menu for your 6 movie disc.
