What is truly the best Xvid/Divx to DVD Conversion program?
There are so many in both freeware or commerical. Looking through various programs mentioned on this website and forum, it seems to be at least 20+ different programs.
What are the real difference in actually conversion quality or etc?

Of the one-click-wonders the only one I would consider is ConvertXtoDVD. It is the most consistent - although not perfect - and does pretty much what it says it will. None of the other seem to deliver. There is a free version, called DivxtoDVD (it was an early development beta stage) which is good, but the pay version is much better again.
I haven't really tried any of the free alternatives like AVI2DVD or DIKO. I prefer to do it all manually, stage by stage. This means avisynth -> CCE (for Video encoding) -> SoundForge (for AC3 audio) -> DVD Lab Pro (for authoring) -> Prassi ONES (for burning). This gives me the best quality possible from the source material, and complete freedom over menu design. It takes a little longer to set up the first few times, but it soon becomes second nature.
Of course, by far the simplest solution is to get a Divx certified DVD player, then conversion becomes less of a necessity.Read my blog here.
