  1. Having been entertained at great length by one or two recent threads, my eyes have been subjected to an inordinate amount of strain. I'm sure there are one or two others here that have aching eyeas after participating in the "worlds longest thread writing competition".... What do people do who sit in front of monitors all day??? Do they take eye vitamins?? exercises or what?? Just wondering?

Nah, I just happen to have my system on all day. I am studying programming, I work on my system a lot. I just refresh the forum pages sometimes and take a break from it all (the programming, not the flaming.) before I start talking in C, I also type pretty fast so dont take too much time out. Talking of swollen eyes, my throat is getting sore from all the laughing that I do. LOL
If you wanna be like me, take up programming and get a comfy seat. Also, learn to type fast, you dont wanna spend all day replying to one guy.

  3. Feel much better now. Went out jogging for the first time in 4 years earlier. Thought I was going to bust my gut for a moment. We've got this great place on the seafront called "The Hoe" - (although sadly theres a lack of it, could have burnt off a few more calories otherwise
Still this was just what I needed to get the endorphins pumping again

A couple of Swan Vesta's I should imagine.

Plymouth Hoe... that place is pretty sweet. When I was 3 or 4 my parent's lost me for a good hour or so. I went walkies for a while and forgot to tell them.

  5. Eye strain?

    <serious mode>

Invest in a high resolution LCD (flat panel) display. Prices have come way down over the last six months and you get your desk back as a bonus. I've got a ViewSonic VG175 which is their 18.5 inch version. Very high brightness and contrast levels combined with clear type that comes with XP so text even at 1280x1024 resolution is very crisp and easy to read... even for this old goat.

  6. I found when I first got broadband then I was spending loads of time on the net.So eventually I got really bad headaches right behind my eyes.

However now about 6 months on I can sit at the pc for 18 hours constant without the slightest bit of headache or eye strain.

So my advice is loads more time on the net and just adjust your seating position so that you are sat upright (to avoid back strain) and not too close to the monitor.
This way your eyes will become accustomed to the repetetive abuse and will become trained to accept the harmfull rays emitted by your CRT.

    *DISCLAIMER*

If anything goes wrong then it's not my fault.
    I diddn't do it.
    Wasn't me.
    LOL

    ROFLMAO

The scary thing is that this is true sometimes. The added irony being that when I can no longer bear to look at the screen any longer I settle down in front of the t.v. to watch a movie. God its a hard life being a student

  10. And the other thing is I am not a student like you.
I am a family man with 3 kids and please believe that I get real hassle sometimes for being on so long.

But it's just soooooooooooo addictive LOL.

  12. I lost that auction, some ******* outbid me at the last minute.. Still I managed to get the original Lord Of The Rings today at £31. I shall be auctioning that off at £100 on Yahoo...
I couldn't help but notice that some geezer has already flogged 48 copies at £10 each of some hardcore porno on vhs. I've never seen any reason to get myself a capture card, but if I can transfer my vhs onto vcd and use these as my master copies then the possibilities are endless
