What version of Nero are you using and what kind of disc... Data VCD, DVD ?
To my friend, my mate, my love, my queen - the honour is to serve -
Nero Vers. 4.51.1 - it is just the cd/dvd tool, not the complete program.
I am working w/ dvds. I have been told that my firmware may need to be updated, so I have been checking into that... -
BTC drive is not the best scanner drive.

If I'm seeing correctly - it looks to be verbatim media. If so, that doesn't appear to be the problem. The BTC 1008 is only an 8X burner - just because it can burn at 8X doesn't imply the burn will be perfect: Even if it will complete the burn without crashing.
I would recommend burning at 4X with that particular burner, then scan with NeroCDspeed - see if that improves things.
If you're committed to burning at 8X, install a 16X drive, many excellent choices available for $40 to $45 shipped. (i.e. NEC, Pioneer, LiteOn, etc..) A 16X drive will do a clean burn on 4X media (i. e. Taiyo Yuden) at 8X - I've seen it.
As to the scans: I look at two things: #1 Quality Score - less than 90%, it goes in the reject pile, probably accounts for less than 5% of the discs that I burn - typically less than 3%.
#2 Spikes at the end (outside) of the disc - indicates potential problem with playback, usually results in a lower quality score.
Your scan indicated the burn went to the edge without a problem, but with overall poor burn quality - IMHO the disc was burned at too high a speed.
I normally burn at 1/2 the rated speed of the burner: I.E. Plextor PX712SA (8X) burns at 4X; NEC 3520A (16X) burns at 8X; Plextor 716UF (16X) burns at 8X. This usually results in many fewer bad burns. -
Hi classfour,
Verbatim (up to 16x) is the media. The burner automatically reverts to the burning speed that it wants to use, which with this meda was 2x. After I did the firmware update, it started burning in 4x... I did a transfer rate test & it provided me w/ the following results:
also did test w/ dvd infopro...
