is there an easy wasy to convert ogm,mkv to avi or mpeg

hi i have tried everything to convert my mkv and ogm files to avi, followed this really lengthy tutorial on how to do it with mkv extract and host of other tools you had to use either the subs did'nt come out or the text file created was'nt a .srt it was something else, so is there just 1 program out there that can be used to convert the file to avi or mpg ? thanx in advance

alltoavi, ogm to avi ...but I don't think they support all kind of ogm and mkvs.


but I would avoid downloading such formats if you want to convert avi/dvd...or build/buy a htpc that can play everything instead.

hi i did'nt know there were different kinds of ogm or mkv files????? plus the stuff i downloaded on came in that format boy is that irritatiing how can u tell which is which??
