i have a ze4610 laptop that didnt come with an internal wireless card so i got a pcmcia card. in the bottom i can insert a mini pci card and do away with the pcmcia card sticking out. But i heard HP has a certain mini pci that will work. Has anyone gotten an HP laptop and did this? If the wrong brand or if the model number isnt correct the BIOS will reject the mini pci card. any ideas?

  2. I believe you are correct, I have a ze4933 with a Broadcom b/g WLAN wireless mini-pci card and I tried an MSI mini-pci card in it and the bios rejected it. Couldn't even get the PC to boot. Weird but true. An older Compaq laptop worked fine with the MSI card.
Try Broadcom or check the HP website for drivers to see if they have any clues for your model of HP PC.
