I got the problem with my recently bought Venturer player and have just seen similar messages regarding other Venturer players in this forum.
It seems that the 81328 region-free hack does not work on the recent Venturer portable DVD models. I bought mine at Argos in UK. The main board identifies it as a PVS19251 manufactured by Alco which is the code for the same equipment sold under the TruTech brand in the US.
When following the instructions to enter the 81328 hack code, I got the "not available" sign...the "0" with a slash through it. I have tried codes for older Venturer models but they didn't work either. And I have tried to use hack codes for other TruTech models but they didn't work either (just in case).
