Region hack not working Coby TF-DVD1020

I had a coby region free hacked given as a gift but a "friend" threw it in the water. I've been holding off on getting another one until I saw the same one on sale. I bought it but it's not region free. I tried the region free hack:

but neither hack posted is soliciting a response from the player. I'm not coming up with any numbers showing up after trying either one. The actual model shown on the back of the player is the TF-dvd1020, bought in the u.s. I've tried searching on the internet but I'm not coming up with any other sites that have any valid information.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas (other than throwing this one in the water also )? Thanks.

Ok, after several attempts, finally holding the remote about 12 inches from the ir receiver on the player the 2nd unlock posted finally elicited a response. I don't know why it didn't work the first 35 times.
