Are you a PW, contributor to VH or both?

I'd probably say both now but deep down I'm a contributor and that's why I'm still here

I get the impression some of you may here may think I'm just a post whore or get kicks out of it probably due to only ever seeing me in VHOT. That's far from it as I get a far bigger kick out of helping people and that's what I enjoyed doing around this fine place when I first joined 8). What you have seen recently is just me trying to help kickstart VHOT into some actually interesting to pop into as a few people are aware so again I'd say I was helping

anyway this search was more just out of interest as I was doing searching another site and thought I'd check my username results related to videohelp. This is my Google search (just change the username for your own)

I know BJ_M and Lordsurf get around 26,000 and the main man Baldrick gets around 30,000. I return 23,900 which ain't bad as it means that my username is associated with content that Google thinks is worth noting. I get 26,000 if you just search for 'Mackemx Videohelp'. That's a pretty good result I'd say if you take into account my post total of just over 4,000. It probably would have been the same result when I was back on 3,000 posts as I had 95% of my posts within the rest of the forums. Google hasn't been able to see VHOT for a long time though it still picks up the archives

adding offtopic to the search returns 416 results so outside VHOT I've got 23,484 results so Google is still noting old posts elsewhere in the forum as I've posted very little elsewhere since Jan 2005. @BJ_M, I beat you when you take away off-topic :P

my top result was this so I guess people must look at my guides which is good to know even though it's only 2 guides I have on this site (should have been more )

BJ_M and Lordsmurf turn up the same guide results at number 1 but looking at Yoda313's it's Polls so I guess he is the King of Polls 8)

I did a few of the top 10 posters from the forum statistics and some get somewhere in the region of 20,000 results also but some get low results. Even the 'infamous' PW King of them all Capmaster only returns 3,640 but adding Offtopic to the search returns 2830 so that leaves 810

I guess Google is trying to say something about a posters actual post content having something worth making a note of 8)

so feel free to think of me as a Post Whore on my current posting habits but I'd like to think you were joking like I am when I say I'm a PW :P. I hope you don't actually think of me as a kind of person who seeks attention and has nothing better to do than post crap in an Off Topic forum like I know some actually do think .

Personally I'd rather be known for my 'true' PW skills from the times I used to bend over backwards trying to help people in this backing up malarky here and not just here but at other DVD related forums also. Obviously most people won't be aware of that so I accept that but I don't want to be labelled as just a PW in VHOT

some may also think of me as that horrible foul mouthed git from the Pub and I don't blame you . I only started the Pub to take the shite away from this place and if I had the chance to do it again I certainly wouldn't :P. It probably didn't help by doing that but I'm just pleased VH seems to be much more welcoming in all the forums as I don't see as much 'crap' as I saw before and that's the main reasonI got involved 8)

I'm not seeking a pat on the back either but rather just making it clear that I'm not the person some people may think I am as they have only seen me in VHOT . I'd prefer you think of me as just an old contributor that was trying to spice up VHOT for the same reason why I stuck around VH rather than Doom9 or any other DVD site 8). I stick around because I have a bond with this site for some unknown reason . One reason is probably because I know in time when the next generation of DVD burners/players/recorders become more mainstream this place will be one of the best places for information 8)

I'm also not saying I'm any better than anyone but I'd like to think I can kick of my shoes and have some laid back fun in VHOT and help out elsewhere when I can



I added a poll for the fun of it but it would be interesting to see what people feel they give to this wonderful site 8)

yeah they are interesting though I don't think it's perfect but it does produce some pretty interesting results that seem to follow a trend

I've also checked a few names that produce very few results and I could have made fun of them but I didn't name anyone with low results as I will let people find out for themselves

I can be labelled as a PW but at least behind that badge I also wear my VH contributor badge 8)

I did that with my name yet only get 1,300 returns but have 1000 more posts than you (75% outside of OT I might add). Must be the length of time you have been a member.

actually it's not the length of time you are a member, as I just realised what caused it . It's all the links for the guides that boosted up the results
