I have a number of music DVDs and a windows media PC. I want to copy just the tracks I like off each DVD onto my hard drive. I thought this would be simple enough but so far every peice of software I have tried has proven to be poor! They either copy the entire disk, as is or convert the tracks to a compressed format (dvix etc) which obviosly reduces the quality. The best one of a bad bunch seems to be X-Software's Video Vault, however it is unreliable and half the time stops for no reason and refuses to copy any disc that use AC3 encoding
Can anyone recommend some DVD software thta wil do this, or a way of doing this?

Smartripper in Move Mode or DVDDecrypter in IFO Mode should be able to do it. Depending on the way the disc is authored, if each song is a chapter then you can just tick the chapters you want. In DVDDecrypter go to Tools > Settings > IFO Mode and set file-splitting to "By Chapter" and voila ... one VOB per chapter (song).
If in doubt, Google it.
