I am using pinnacle video editing which I think I great for my needs, however, I am trying to find out how I can burn to dvd in such a way that I don't need to ask everyone that is receiving the burnt dvds what format their dvd player plays ie + or -. Is there a way to burn that plays on any format dvd player, just like a pre recorded dvd. I can burn to either + or _ but its the playing end that seems a problem. This will save me phoning all people asking this question for things like wedding dvds and family dvds that i produce once a year. I know this might need furthewr software or hardware but finding the answers seems to be a task in itself.

All help and replies greatly appreciated.

If you want it to play on all players you must "press" it like commercial discs. You can't use home dvd burners.

Not possible without pressing. I also sell hundreds of instructional video in DVD-R I use TY 8x printables and use a duplicating tower with 5 Pioneer 108 DL 16x drives. I burn directly from the towers internal HD where I save all my titles as ISO images. Results are also universally playable burnt DVD. I sell all over the world and out of 1000 disks I might get a request for 2 replacements. If you want that last bit of guaranteed compatability you have to press. Otherwise my method is as close as I can get at this time w/o having to go the pressing route.

Out of about 1000 DVD-R discs I have supplied, I've only ever had one back. That was from someone trying to play it on a PS2. I bought some DVD+R discs just in case I needed them as an alternative but have never had to use them.
