Hi,
I have several DivX files that I wish to convert to VCDs.
I can play them all fine on my PC.
A couple of them ok, i.e. i can load up TMPGenc, use a VCD template and set it off converting.
However, when i try to do this with others i receive the error:
"An error occured when audio was decoded."
This error does not occur when i use no template, so obviously it is something in the template that i have a problem with. All the VCD/SVCD templates produce this problem.
I have tried using virtual dub with these divx files, but when i attempt to load them i recive a message saying they have "improper VBR hear encoding" that will be replaced with CBR encoding that will 'skew' the audio (it goes out of sync).
Are the alternative templates I can use for tempegc to get it to work with VBR divx files?
and another note...if i can split a divx file accross two cds using VCD standard, will i be able to fit the same file using SVCD?
Thanks in advance.

if you can load them into virtualdub at all...try and save the audio as .wav ...then load the divx as the video and the .wav as the audio. this may help. vcd starndard is 1150 svcd is 2520 or 2500 not sure... but as you can see its more than double... so you do the math.

well thats the thing..i can load them into virtualdub, but i get the "improper vbr header" message, and then any audio extracted is out of synch with the video (and it isnt uniformally out of synch i.e. correcting it for one section messes it up more at other points).
