    Hey every1

When i try to burn a 380MB Avi File it shows 3400MB on a Dvd.I can hardly fit in 2 such small sized Avi files.I've got no idea abt any pogram or help on this topic.I tried to find out but i got nothing.I know the file size increases but how much that a 4.7Gb disc isnt enough for 3 (380Mb) Avi files???

    HElp me out PLzzz

it would help if you told us what tool you are using now and the total running time(for all 3-4 avis) cause the avi file size does not matter when you are converting to dvd-video.

You would be looking at changing the format size of each clip to make them fit .

Just converted a nero mp4 movie to dvd .

    Nero mp4 title under 700mb's (320x240) to dvd title (352x288 resize) = 700mb's output .

Good for small tv's and portable dvd players which seem to be popping up all over the place these day's ... though those who have seen them on bigger tv's say they are far better than pirated vcd's they have puchased (something I dont condone) ...

    ------------------------------------------------------

Dvdauthorgui , requires one small full d1 res vob in order to work (use dts logo or similar) .

Use batch demux to strip mpeg and audio stream to another folder (from your mpeg's) .
Rename m2a audio to mpa , use besweet to convert mpa to ac3 .

Import mpeg stream's and audio into dvdauthorgui as title set's .

Create menu's , link all correctly , and author .

Note : Yes , dvdauthorgui will accept mpeg's of 352x288 (must be encoded as mpeg2 , not mpeg1) , just first title must be full d1 resolution in order to work .

    Open this pgcedit .
    Re-edit all nav command's , esspecially those from button's .
Save , and play test it .

    Should menu's or title's not play correctly , re-edit nav command's .
Save , and play test again .

If all is well , burn like crazy and enjoy .

Should beable to get 6 title's on one dvd easily ... that's just over 8 hour's worth ... for those with kid's , that's a lot of the wiggle's on one dvd ...

The mind boggle's at what I know ... lol

Give me a spanner , and I'll show you how to nail a square peg into a round hole ...

    Thanks guys.

I've tried convertxtoDvd but that only coverts it doesnt burn them and after all this when i go on for burning i get the same stuff.I've got many other Dvd tools that i dont know but nothing works.
I think i should go for burning 1 cd at 1 time on cd-r.Cuz on the bases of present quality of my files if i go for squeezing the files it will give me big boxes of pixels that i hate to see.
Anyway i'll try again by using convertxtoDVD and burn that vob or wht ever file in nero and see if it works.

The full version of ConvertXtoDVD does contain a built in burning engine. Read the online help or check the settings dialogue.

You don't want to hear this, but I think many of your problems would go away if you set your hopes at a more realistic level. You are trying to too much on a disc, starting from relatively low quality, heavily compressed source. You are resizing it up, making the artifacts already existing in the video appear more obvious.

Be realistic, or learn how to do it the long way. The results still wont be DVD quality - you don't have the source for that, but they will be much better than any one-click solution can provide you with.

If you use converxtodvd it will reencode files to mpeg2 and contain them in Vobs.
If you want to archive AVI's like on CD's then choose Data DVD format not DVD Video in a burning app (like Nero...). You'll be able to fit them all on a single DVD-R (just like a 4.7 Gig CD). DVD Video expects files to be prepared in a very particular way and convertxtodvd will do that for you if your quality settings are not set too high.

Use the right tools and you can. Half-D1 will let you put 3- 4 hours on a disc and keep it watchable. But you can't do that with one-click-wonders.
