  1. I'm not sure if this is a form of copy protection:
I have analog cable, I'm using my cable box's RCA line output for the signal that goes to my DVD recorder. So I am not using my DVD recorder's tuner, just the Line 1 input. I then send the recorder's line out to my TV via video S-cable and RCA cables for the audio.
When playing thru my DVD recorder, channel 84/Encore looks snowy. I can record it, and it doesn't get worse, just remains snowy. This channel looks fine when not using my DVD recorder or even when playing thru my VCR.
Every other channel thru my DVD recorder looks great and records great. This includes HBO & Showtime. Suggestions ?

Can you move the DVD recorder a bit further away to see if that clears up the reception on Chl 84?

other than that, I'd look at going thru your VCR to that DVD recorder to se if that clears up the image quality.

Let me know what you find.

    Cheers!

I'm grateful for the help, how can my DVD recorder interfer with a cable channel ?
I'm not sure I understand, ch.83 looks great, even ch.97. Why ch83 is snowy thru my dvd recorder is a mystery to me.
