  1. I have looked at a dozen tools now and can't seem to find exactly what I want
    I need some help please...

Basically I am trying to take a chain of vobs and extract them into into vobs at their title breakpoints?

I have found tools that can break them up by chapters but that's too fine of a break.

Sorry if I am using the wrong terminology, let me try to explain this way:

    input: vob1.vob vob2.vob vob3.vob
each are at the 1gig file limit but there are 5 titles spanning those three vob's

I'd like to create 5 new output vobs, each holding one title.
    output: vob1.vob vob2.vob vob3.vob vob4.vob vob5.vob

So far I have only found one program that comes even close, the old smartripper program which can breakup vob output into chapters, but doesn't offer breakup by title. Of course there are endless programs that can see the correct title structure but don't offer any output options.

I don't care about retaining dvd menu control, these are home movies and I will be re-creating the menu.

    Thank you for any help!

    Can I ask why ?

One simple way - load the whole thing into DVD Shrink. Click on the ReAuthor button. Drag title one across to the left. Hit Backup, and write the results to the HDD. Repeat for each title. You will get 5 new titlessets, with one title in each.

Even simpler would be to demux the contents of the titleset to 5 mpeg files, and reauthor with those.

  3. Unfortunately DVDShrink only sees the whole collection as one title?
I am not sure why. Full Disc mode shows under "Main Movie" "Title 1-5"

Reauthor shows just one huge Title 1 file.

It may have to do with how the DVD was originally authored. But there are indeed 5 titles in there...

https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=1373527#1373527 might assist. If there's 5 PGCs then you're in business.
    If in doubt, Google it.
