Hi, I have a bit of a problem that I've been trying to figure out and I thought that you guys might be able to help. I have a DVD that I purchased, its a R2 PAL DVD. The movie has Russian AC3 audio and you can select between either french or english subtitles. Basically what I want to do, is extract the 16x9 video and subtitles into one hardcoded package which I can slide into TMPGEnc. Basically Im thinking of like a version on DVD2AVI that would allow me to select a subtitle within the VOB streams. Output that to a .d2v and open in tmpgenc so I can upconvert the whole thing to 29.97fps instead of 25. I just basically want the movie, with its original Audio (which i already have the AC3 extracted so its good to go) and the subtitles, hardcoded into the video. I wouldnt be against somehome using the original subs right off the regular DVD because I can output them to an individual file in SmartRipper and just add them in later when I author in DVDLab; but then I was afraid that after I change the framerate on the video, the subs might not match up. This is why I thought that hardcoding them would be for the best.
Any information help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks In Advance,
Huck

well, if you want to hardcode then you can:
1 - extract the subs with vobsub or subtitle ripper.
2 - load the d2v file into virtual dub. Open a filter, select sibtitles (you can even preview)
3 - frameserve it to TMPGenc
4 - when frameserving, virtual dub will generate a vdr file (similar as a d2v file)
5 - load this in TMPGEnc as you would do with the d2v file (select all files)
If you have not done this before then you have to search a bit on this site (or Doom9) as there are some outstanding guides for this.....The Dutchman
