  1. There was a lot of pixelation in one of the DivX discs I played in the LG DS 9533..
I don't know why, but all fast transitions were kinda fuzzy and pixelated..
Then I tried other discs and they were fine..
On checking the framerate it was 1665 kb/s (which was a lot fuzzy and pixelated) and another one was 1132 kb/s (which was lesser pixelated.. but pixelated anyways ) What's the prob? Do I need to modify using mpegmodifier? Is it packed bitstream??

    Chipset: MediaTek MT1389FE
Codec of AVI file : XviD

Lastly, is it just the scratches in media used - that's causing me the pixelations??

EDIT: and whats a GMC warp point ??
Is it likely the video is using more than 1 GMC warp point ??

pixelation is usually the result of compression. When comparing bitrates you also need to keep in mind the resolution, length, and file size. Also, fast action scenes and dark colors/scenes will be the first to exhibit pixelization.

If you are creating the files yourself, then you can correct the problem. If you are using files someone else created, then you will just have to live with it.

  3. I've noticed something here,
If I use VirtualDubMod and edit it plays fine without the pixelation..
I did the 'fast recompress' => But the audio went bad.
Any suggestions? on what to use in VDM?
