  1. Hi all,

I use a canon 300d, i have downloaded my images via canon software. i am wanting to use the correct aspect ratio and pixel resolution as i am using PAL in the uk. I am going to use premiere pro 1.5, simply to put music to the images.
So heres my question - Do i need to set the aspect ratio to 4.3 or 16.9 and at what resolution to match pal?
Secondly the project will only last 8 mins so will i need to use cbr or vbr?

    Cheers Josel

Second part first. If 8 minutes is the full content of the disc, use CBR at around 9000 kbps. (actual number will depend on the bitrate of the audio used).

As for the images, I would set the project aspect ratio to be whatever is required (4:3 or 16:9), then frame the images to suit. Personal preference when working with images is to crop and tweak is to do all manipulation outside the video editor, then bring them in afterwards.

Can be either depending on what you want. As Gunslinger mentioned prepre before hand. Most image editng apps have a preset for cropping at 4:3 or 16:9 so you can crop them to fill entire screen.
