  1. Hi there!

I have a quite odd problem. I'm authoring a DVD using Adobe Encore DVD (1.5). When I use the preview feature everything is OK, menus, videos and stills, it's all there. Then I generate the files and burn them.

The resulting DVD plays very well in DVD-players (the kind you plug on the TV, I tested on three of them) but when I try to play it in computers with DVD-readers I get diferent results with diferent computers.

Some computers won't play sond, others give me stutering video, but none will play it well (I tested in 4 systems with diferent players - VLC, Windows Media Player and Power DVD). And these problems apear even in the first menu (which was created in Encore DVD).

My first guess would be that Encore DVD uses some obscure codec, but I was unable to find anything in this direction.

    Some extra details:

*The three videos in the DVD were originally three small 20 minute videos. An .avi and two .wmv files. I converted them to mpeg NTSC 720x480 using Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5. The converted versions all play well before putting them on Encore DVD and in the previews, so I guess this is not a conversion issue.

*The sound on the menu was a mp3.

    Well... long post. Any Ideas?

MP3 isn't a valid DVD audio type. So basically, nothing should have played your work.

Sorry, I missed adding that the mp3 was converted (also in Adobe Premiere) to a .wav before importing as asset in Encore DVD. Thanks anyway.
