Not sure if this is new info for anyone but....with the TMPGEnc AC3 Plugin for TDA you also get an app called TMPGEnc Play.

You can rip directly from CD to AC3, Vog Orbis or Linear PCM AND it has a built in CD Database lookup feature. It can also encode to all of the above formats from files on your computer. Both the AC3 and Vog Orbis have numerous quality settings as well...I haven't explored the LPCM portion very much. The default CDDB found this Australian CD with no problems at all although the pic is of the AC3 files I ripped from that CD actually playing. It has a very easy to use "output file placement" feature and it will put the songs(files) in folders/subfolders (artist - album).
    Pretty cool.....if you ask me.

Cd to ac3? Are you making a music only dvd? I guess I don't know the value of going from wav to ac3 except to put on a dvd.

Actually besweet is more than enough for my audio conversion needs - well 90% of the time. Plus its free

Excellent tool: This can be used to convert the soundtrack on a photo slideshow to AC3. I've had to use three programs in the past to accomplish this vey thing.

I did have that in mind first and foremost Yoda. Now I need to find
a good guide OR figure out how to do it myself.
I've seen a good guide for an Audio DVD but it uses mpeg audio...not AC3.
I've already experimented with re-muxing a random piece of video and my AC3 audio from the CD...it works well BUT the video must be the same lenght as the audio (or longer).

    So far...so good.
I found a guide that uses Winamp(which I'm not using)....then TMPGEnc Plus to go to MPEG Audio (which I'm also not doing).
Instead of configuring TMPGEnc Plus to encode MPEG Audio....I'm having it encode/output LPCM 48,000 audio and output a black screen extremely low quality MPEG1 video to match the audio.
Then I use TMPGEnc Play to encode the LPCM 48,000 audio to AC3 (256kbps).
Now all I need to do is load up the files (demuxed of course) into TDA and author away. So far I have 9CD's completed and they all add up to just under 1GB.

Oh...and to start it all off I'm ripping the CD's with a program called Exact Audio Copy....which has the ability to rip the entire CD as one big .wav file(no song breaks).

I'll then add chapter points in TDA where the song breaks are supposed to be. I won't have quite the versatility of an MP3 CD but hey....this is mainly for my wife who challenged me to do this for her.....
